Montclair Green Film Series Jan 21: ‘Story of Stuff’ and ‘Trashed’

Montclair’s Environmental Affairs office and Community Green present the first offering of 2010’s monthly Green Film Series: a double-feature examining a fundamental element of modern American culture – the creation and disposal of what we call “waste.”

The screening will be hosted at the Montclair Public Library’s Main Branch, 50 South Fullerton Avenue tonight, Thursday, January 21st at 6:30 p.m. All events at the Library are free. The Green Film Series continues throughout 2010, on the third Thursday of each month. This year’s first film, “The Story of Stuff”

Bloomfield Applies for Sustainable Jersey Certification

Bloomfield Township is one of only 47 communities in New Jersey to complete its application for Sustainable Jersey certification. The application, submitted by Greener Bloomfield coordinator John Palomaki on behalf of the Township, is currently being reviewed by Sustainable Jersey.

Trying to make room for your new holiday gifts, or maybe pick up a classic gem that someone else no longer needs? According to moderator Pat Gilleran, Essex FreecycleTM New Jersey, is a REUSE group that is open to anyone who wants to “recycle” that special something rather than throw it away.
