“Future of Food” Film in Montclair June 3
In celebration of the new growing season in NJ, the Montclair Township Environmental Affairs office & Community Green are pleased to present an eye opening film about food and farming, THE FUTURE OF FOOD, on Wednesday, June 3, 7:00pm at the Montclair Public Library Main Branch! There is a revolution happening in the farm fields and on the dinner tables of America – a revolution that is transforming the very nature of the food we eat. Sign up to see it!
THE FUTURE OF FOOD, a film by the award-winning Deborah Koons Garcia, offers an in-depth investigation into the disturbing truth behind the unlabeled, patented, genetically engineered foods that have quietly filled U.S. grocery store shelves for the past decade. This film gives a voice to farmers and citizens whose lives and livelihoods have been negatively impacted by this new technology. The health implications, government policies and push towards globalization are all part of the reason why many people are alarmed by the introduction of genetically altered crops into our food supply.
The film also explores alternatives to large-scale industrial agriculture, placing organic and sustainable agriculture as real solutions to the farm crisis today.
Wednesday, June 3rd at 7:00 pm
at the Montclair Public Library’s Main Branch, 50 So. Fullerton Ave.
