Go Green at the Bloomfield Green Fest!
Join us for the first Bloomfield Green Fest at Harvest Fest, September 20-21, 2008. Meet representatives from a number of green-focused non-profit organizations and local businesses, and learn how you can go green with discussions led by local experts. Join us at the plaza between the Bloomfield Civic Center and Public Library across from the historic Bloomfield Green on Saturday from 10:00am-6:00pm and Sunday from noon-6:00pm. Greener Bloomfield is co-sponsoring the Green Fest with the Bloomfield Recycling Committee.
Participants can learn about recycling, energy efficient lighting, composting, green home design, and home energy audits from local experts. They can take a short test-drive in the revolutionary Mercedes-Benz Smart Car. The civic-minded can discover local and national organizations to work with to achieve greater environmental sustainability, such as Greener Bloomfield, the Brookdale Park Conservancy, and the Friends of Clark’s Pond and Third River. They can browse the “green” collection of the Library. And visitors can also discover eco-friendly products from Shaklee and the Purple Dragon Food Coop. In all, about 20 exhibitors will be on-hand.
